SYNOPSIS
Lucia, a young nurse in São Paulo, senses trouble in the air and an irrational fear sets in about her late-term pregnancy. As a result, she finds herself drawn to a local evangelical church and Nicole, one of its members. All the while, fires rage in the Amazon hundreds of miles away

Henrique Carvalhaes
Producer
Henrique Carvalhaes has a degree in Cinema from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) and is currently studying the Postgraduate Course in Production and Audiovisual Business by SENAC.
He wrote and directed the short film “O Travesseiro e o Escorpião” and produced the short film “F staying”. He worked at the distributor Vitrine Filmes and migrated to the assistance of audiovisual direction, acting in series, feature films and mainly advertising. He has worked for production companies such as Academia de Filmes, Big Bonsai, Piloto, Consórcio, Vetor Zero, Mutato and Dínamo, among others.
He currently has an ascending career as a director of advertising films and as a film producer. His company "Substância Filmes" has produced two featured films, "45 days away from you" and "Music for bleeding hearts", both directed by Rafael Gomes.

Kari Ulfsson
Producer
Kári Úlfsson is an Icelandic film producer, currently based in Reykjavik. Úlfsson grew up in rural Iceland, where he met Brúsi Ólason, his future collaborator. Úlfsson worked as a park ranger in Iceland’s oldest national park, Þingvellir. When not in the park, he and Ólason would make short films together. In 2017, they established their own production company, Kvarki Films which has produced Icelandic commercials, music videos for highly respected Icelandic acts yet their main focus is on the narrative form. Their short films explore the unstoppable urge to connect with other human beings and how we fail or succeed in doing so.
His works have screened at Aspen Shortfest, Palm springs, Toronto International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen and more. He has been awarded for best Icelandic short at the Stockfish Film Festival and also nominated for best Nordic short film. Most recently, Kári was part of the Future Frames 2020 program at Karlovy-Vary Film Festival.
Kári Úlfsson recently graduated from Columbia University's School of the Arts with a MFA in Creative Producing. He is currently developing his first feature film and working towards a tv series to be shot in rural Iceland later in 2021.
Jasmin Tenucci is a Brazilian filmmaker who has written, directed, or produced films in Brazil, Iceland, Pakistan, and the United States.
Her most recent short film, AUGUST SKY (2021), is a Cannes Short Film 2021 Official Selection. Previously she co-produced and associate directed the short film DARLING (2019) which won the Best Short Film prize at the 2019 Venice Film Festival In addition, she has directed four episodes of the Brazilian television series SHOP TUDO (Glaze Entretenimento/Fall 2021).
Jasmin has also worked for several years in the Brazilian television industry and has written for numerous television series. She co-developed and wrote on Globo’s acclaimed series AS FIVE (2020). Previously she created and served as showrunner on the GNT dramedy TEMPERO SECRETO (2016). Currently, she is writing a soon-to-be-announced Netflix series that will premiere in January 2022.
Jasmin has BA in film from São Paulo University and an MFA in writing and directing from Columbia University Film School. While at Columbia she taught directing to undergraduates and was one of the founders of a collective with filmmakers from all around the world with whom she works until this date.
Presently, Jasmin is developing two feature films: AUGUST SKY, based on her short of the same name; and THE SMALLEST WHALE IN THE WORLD, which won the 2017 Alfred P. Sloan Development Grant.

Saim Sadiq is a filmmaker of Pakistani origin who is currently an MFA candidate at Columbia University,School of Arts. With a background in anthropology, he previously directed a documentary, Stepmotherland – Minorities, Blasphemy and Pakistan (2014), about a Christian minority colony that was burnt down by religious fundamentalists in the city of Lahore.
That doc went viral in Pakistan and led to a fundraising drive for the community. Interested in stories with a social impact, Saim directed a PSA after the brutal terrorist attack on a military school in Pakistan, aptly named, A Message to the Taliban, that was featured on BBC’s Free Speech Stories. In 2016, Saim directed a short Pasban, that has screened at many International Film Festivals and more recently the award winning Darling (2019) that showed at TIFF and Venice Film Festival.
Ricardo Mordoch graduated in 2010 in the Superior Audiovisual Course at the University of São Paulo (ECA - USP) with an emphasis on Direction and Production. His course completion work, "Contos de Obituário", was shown at the prestigious FIPA-Biarritz festival and the compete at Rio International Television Festival in 2010.
He worked as an assistant director from 2009 to 2013, in series, short films, and many commercials. He soon began directing his first advertising jobs for clients such as Google, Reebok, Coca-Cola, Latam, Smirnoff, among others, specializing in web campaigns and branded content.
In 2017 he returned to the cinema, having worked as 1st assistant director in two feature films: "Segundo Tempo", by Rubens Rewald and "Dente por Dente", by Julio Taubkin and Pedro Arantes. He was also 1st assistant director of the award-winning short film "A Volta Para Casa", by Diego Freitas. In 2019, he co-directed Sergio Roizemblit's “, which is scheduled to premiere in 2022. His production company was responsible for the short films "Céu de Agosto", by Jasmin Tenucci, selected for the 74th Cannes Film Festival, and "O Começo", by Jorge Maia, in post-production.
He is currently finishing his Master's Degree at Carlos III University in Madrid.
